There are two reports of her demise: the first is that on 17th February 1875 she struck a rock at the Ardrishaig entrance to the Crinan Canal while on her way to Oban with a cargo of coal and capsized in shallow water.  It would appear that she was salvaged and lived on until 15th August 1980 when she foundered near Skipness Point on the Kintyre Peninsula while on pasage with a cargo of slate from Ballachulish to Sandbank on the Clyde.
