Built for a Robert Davie of Port Glasgow although she had passed into the ownership of The Newark Shipping Co. of Port Glasgow sometime before her loss on 22nd December 1881.   On passage from Glasgow to Ballachuilish with a cargo of coal she stranded at the western entrance to the Crinan Canal, and was declared a total loss.
