Built by Burrell for their own use. By 1890 she is owned by William Arrol & Co of Glasgow.. In 1891 she was purchased by Manchester & Liverpool Transport Co Ltd,  and registerd at Borrowstoness (now known by the abbreviated name of Bo'ness) on the Forth Estuary.

By 1910 she was owned by the Grain Elevating & Automatic Weighing Coy of Liverpool in whose ownership at some point prior to 1930 she was re-engined as a motor vessel. She remained registered at Borrowstoness.
