On November 1st 1897 she stranded near Pladda Light while on passage from Arbroath to Campbeltown with a cargo of barley.

Almost eleven months later, on September 28th 1898, she foundered 1.5 miles NW of MacArthurs Head Light on the Isle of Islay while on passage from Montrose to Bunnahabain (distillery?) on the island, again with a cargo of barley. The official report states that "Cargo shifted and vessel then became unmanageable owing to a nasty cross sea".  Her four man crew were saved.
