Built for the London Leith & Granton Shipping Co.  By her 1870 entry in the MNL she is registered to a William Anderson of St Vincent Street, Glasgow, and by 1880 to a William Batclay of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

The Clydebuilt database notes an official record dated of her registry being closed in 1885 with the legend   "vessel wrecked and totally lost nearly ten years ago per letter from last owner".. I can find no record of this having happened in Scottish waters. However, given that she may by then have been owned in Newcastle this may have been furth of these shores.
