Built for  McColl, H H Galloway and Wm Cowan, and by 1880 owned by Hugh H Galloway of Glasgow. She last shows up in the mnl of 1882.

There is a record of a steamship "Kenilworth" having been blown ashore on the Black Middens Rocks just off the mouth of the River Tyne on 5th November 1914 and of her crew being rescued by lifeboat.  Clyde-based steam lighters did make that sort of voyage but the lack of information on the wreck report makes it impossible to link the two and so I include this comment here purely as a "might be"
