On 4th July 1897 while on passage from Maryport in Cumbria to Letterkenny with a cargo of coal she stranded about 8 miles S by W of Portpatrick. There is no accompanying record of her wreck or of the fate of her crew of four under her master Captain J Campbell but her registry entry was cancelled that same year and so we can assume that the vessel was a total loss.
