Built for James McCreath and Chas Henry of Hunters Quay. In 1905 she was bought by J & E McNeil of Greenock.
Her loss in 1927 is recorded in the RCHAMS Canmore database, thus:
(Classified as iron steamship: no cargo specified, but date of loss cited as 26 January 1927). Effort: this vessel stranded at Holyrood, between Kilcreggan and Cove. Expected wreck.
Registration: Glasgow. Built 1884. 39grt. Length: 20m. Beam: 4m.
(Location of loss cited as N56 0.0 W4 52.0).
The photograph, a hand-coloured postcard, shows her beached at Hunter's Quay. I assume that this was taken whene she was owned by McCreath, who also owned the "Advance " which is alongside her..
(And the exterior of the Royal Marine Hotel hasn't changed much in the last 100 years!)
