I first came across the "Badger" when Graham Lappin sent me the photograph of her below at Port Askaig on Islay, in the company of  David MacBrayne's 1905 A & J Inglis built paddler "Pioneer".

Registered to Peter D Hendry of 2 Oswald Street. Glasgow in 1900 but by 1915 she is in the ownership of Thomas H Harvey, Stamshaw Chemical Works, Portsmouth. Her register entry was closed in 1916 after she was sunk on the 3rd of August by the German U-Boat U18 some 30 miles SW of St Catherine's Point on the Isle of Wight. There were no reported casualties among her crew.
