Built for John & Charles Robertson of Grangemouth as a sailing lighter, she was converted to steam sometime between her being recorded as the former in the 1870 MNL and her registration at Kirkcaldy in 1874 as steam powered. By then she had come into the ownership of  one John Strachan of Kirkcaldy. In 1907 she is registered as owned by The Perth Shipping Co Ltd. of Perth. (manager George Lorimer). Her register entry is closed in 1908 although her actual fate is not known.

During her working life she is known to have plied between the Forth Ports of Leith and Grangemouth, and Port Dundas although her move to Kirkcaldy may have led to her use on that trade ceasing.
